What is Social Justice?

Social Justice (SJ) may be described as “fairness in how wealth, resources, opportunities and privileges are distributed within a society”. SJ may be seen in terms of racial or social  equality, equality before the law with no regard to religious beliefs or gender, fairness in access to the world’s resources, fairness in access to education and opportunity, freedom from violence or oppression, equality before the law. SJ can be pursued through peaceful or non-peaceful means, activism or activism around government policy.
